Editorial standards
How Clearpick compares software
Our goal is to show buyers what was checked, how it was checked, and where evidence is limited. We do not present documentation research as hands-on product testing.
Methodology status: this standard was revised on July 19, 2026. Existing guides are being reviewed in stages. Until a guide states its evidence and verification date, do not assume every product on that page was tested directly.
Our research process
- Define the buyer and task. We specify the company size, location, constraints, and workflow the comparison is meant to support.
- Build a relevant shortlist. We identify products that serve that use case using vendor sites, product documentation, and market research. Inclusion is not a claim that every available product was examined.
- Verify decision-critical facts. We check current availability, published pricing, billing period, entry-plan limitations, integrations, and support information against primary vendor sources where possible.
- Test a defined workflow when access is available. A hands-on test must name the plan or environment used and the task completed. A vendor demo is identified as a demo, not an independent test.
- Compare trade-offs for the stated use case. We explain why a strength or limitation matters to that buyer instead of treating a long feature list as analysis.
- Review and publish limitations. We check sources and links, state what was not verified, and invite documented corrections.

Criteria and scoring
Clearpick does not apply one fixed scorecard to every software category. An ERP decision and an appointment-scheduling decision have different risks. Each substantially reviewed comparison should publish the criteria that matter to its stated use case.
Use-case fit
Whether the product can complete the buyer's essential workflows and serve the intended team size.
Core capabilities
The required features, important limitations, integrations, export options, and geographic availability.
Usability
Setup steps, clarity of the workflow, administration effort, and training requirements when observed.
Realistic cost
Plan price, billing commitment, user or usage charges, required add-ons, and implementation costs when known.
Support and documentation
Published support channels, help resources, service terms, and limitations visible to the evaluated plan.
Risk and portability
Data export, access controls, contractual constraints, and compliance documentation relevant to the use case.
If a page publishes numerical scores, it must also publish its criteria, weights, and supporting evidence. Without that table, readers should treat ordering as an editorial shortlist rather than a laboratory-style ranking.
Pricing checks
A useful price record includes the currency, billing period, minimum seats or usage, required commitment, relevant add-ons, and verification date. Public list prices can change without notice and may vary by country. “Contact sales” is reported as such; we do not estimate a private quote unless a reliable, dated source is identified.
Updates and corrections
Software changes too quickly for an undated claim of permanent accuracy. We display a review date only after a substantive check of the page's important claims. We do not change dates merely to make an article look fresh, and we do not promise a review interval we cannot consistently meet.
To report an error, email contact@clearpick.io with the page URL, the disputed claim, and a primary source if available. A confirmed factual correction may change a recommendation when the corrected fact affects the stated decision criteria.
Editorial independence and AI use
Vendors cannot pay to improve a position or remove a documented limitation. Any future affiliate relationship will be disclosed on affected pages. Clearpick may use AI-assisted tools for research organization, outlining, or language editing, but those tools are not sources and do not replace factual verification or editorial responsibility.
